Rahul Bose is an Indian film actor, director, screenwriter, social activist, and rugby player.Time magazine named him “the superstar of Indian arthouse cinema” while Maxim named him “the Sean Penn of Oriental cinema”. He is also notable for his social activism: he participated in the relief efforts that followed the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and is also the founder of the anti-discrimination NGO, The Foundation.
Rahul Bose Early Life
Rahul Bose was born on 27th July 1967. He defines himself as a half-Bengali apart from one-fourth Maharashtrian and Punjabi.He was born in a Bengali. Rupen and Kumud Bose are his parents. He had one younger sister Anuradha Bose Ansari.He completes his graduation & schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School in Bombay. After trying & hard struggle in a number of American universities however on thousands of rejections, he decided to do his masters in Advertising from Sydenham College.He then worked as an advertising professional and continued working till he winded up his job in the position of creative director in one of the leading ad making company in Mumbai called Rediffusion.
Bose’s first acting role was at age six when he played the lead in a school play, Tom, the Piper’s Son. He was also interested in playing games in his school days.He also played cricket under the coaching of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. but, after his mother’s death, he focused in his career and started working as a copywriter.

Bose started his acting career on the Mumbai stage in Rahul D’Cunha’s Topsy Turvey and Are There Tigers In The Congo. Then he did Bengali film, English, August. he played the lead role in this movie.After this Bose found work in television, he was offered a role in an English TV series called A Mouth Full of Sky. Then he did many Bollywood movies like Bombay Boys, Jhankar Beats, Mr. Mrs. Iyer, Thakshak, Mumbai Maitness, Surya, Chain Kuli Ki Main Kuli, Pyar Ke Side Effects.Kuch Love Jaisa, Midnight Children, Laptop, etc he was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadkne Do. He played a role of Priyanka’s husband. Now he will soon seen in upcoming Bollywood movie Poorna. he making his directorial debut through this movie & also plays role in this movie.
