Sumeet Sachdev is an Indian actor, producer, and director popular on television. He is mainly recognized for his role of ‘Gomzy’ or Gautam Virani in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. He made his debut as a director with the short film ‘Rehman Saheb Ko Phone Karna Hai’. Currently, he is seen as Abhimanyu Raghav aka Mani in Star Plus’ daily soap Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
Sumeet Sachdev Early Life
Sumeet was born on March 18, 1976, and brought up in Delhi. He did his schooling from Delhi only. Later opted for graduation in the field of Architecture and also pursued knowledge about producing and directing films. Filmmaking was always the field which fascinated him a lot. He has two siblings, an elder sister Sonia, and a younger brother Sandeep who was the winner of the Indian Biggest Loser Jeetega. Sumeet is an architect by profession.
Sumeet Sachdev Career
Sumeet made his Tellywood debut with ‘The Fifty Days War’ by Aamir Reza Hussain which was a tribute to Kargil war heroes. He later went for the auditioning of Sahil Virani’s role in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and got rejected. But later was called back for the role of Gautam Virani.
He won two awards for the same role in 2003 and 2004 and was known by the name ‘Gomzy’. He has also done a negative role in ‘Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat’ and was seen as Kabir Khan in first Muslim-oriented TV serial ‘Khwaish’. In November 2009, Sachdev made a comeback in TV after a year’s break as Ronak in Pyaar Ka Bandhan.
