Veerappan trailer: Ram Gopal Varma back with his another real life theme!


Yes, Readers, Ram Gopal Varma is back with the bang of his new story based on the Asia’s biggest manhunt Veerappan.

The film is based on the real life of India’s most infamous sandalwood smuggler and it is also the Hindi remake of Kannada film ‘Killing Veerappan’. The trailer of Varma’s next film Veerappan was released on Monday (April 18).

 The film is based on Veerappan, one of India’s most infamous sandalwood smugglers, who killed 97 policemen, 184 civilians and 900 elephants during his two-decade jungle reign.

It took almost 20 years to kill him. In 2004, Veerappan and some of his associates killed by the Tamil Nadu Special Task Force, led by K Vijay Kumar.The entire operation was termed Operation Cocoon.

The film is produced by BV Manjunath and it Starring Sandeep Bhardwaj, Sachiin J Joshi, Usha Jadhav and Lisa Ray. The center stage of the movie is taken by the actor Sandeep Bhardwaj as he is essaying the character of Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan.

The trailer gives an insight into the real life events that took place during the time Veerappan smuggled sandalwood. The film’s trailer gives us the feel and context of the film, right from the word  go. The trailer says- “ It took 10 years to kill Osama Bin Laden and 20 years to kill Veerappan. No villain like Veerappan ever existed.

So, don’t miss the trailer of the Ram Gopal Verma’s next Veerappan. Aniket Khandagale is the cinematographer of the film and Jeet Ganguly has scored its music. ‘Veerappan’ is all set to hit the silver screen on May 27th this year.
